2) Ice Show Date: March 12, 2016 at the Credit Union IPlex

Fundraising is non- refundable. Tickets are to be handed in by November 15, 2016. Boxes will be available at the Iplex. All inquiries can be made to Lisa Oliver at swiftcurrentskateclub@gmail.com.
4) Volunteering: There is a $50 volunteer fee that will be payable on registration night. After fulfilling one volunteer duty per family, the fee will be returned. Sign up sheets will be available at Citywide registration and available online.
5) Refunds: All refunds will be reviewed by the Executive and are subject to a $10 administration fee. Ice usage will be pro-rated. No refunds after December 16, 2015. Any withdrawals, problems, or concerns must be submitted in writing with a signature and date to the executive at the following address: Swift Current Skating Club, Box 503, Swift Current, SK, S9H 3W3. Questions can be directed to Dallas Ogilivy -741-8220
6) Age Requirements: It is preferred that all skaters have supervision while at their lesson as it is not the coaches’ responsibility to watch them when they are not in lessons. All skaters age 10 and under must be supervised by an adult while at skating lessons.
7) Equipment:
a) Helmets - are mandatory for First Blades, Canskate, Advanced, Rising Stars and Power Skating. Facemasks are mandatory for First Blades, Canskate and Advanced. They should fit snug but not too tight. The strap should be adjustable as should the actual helmet. Ear protection is optional - it would be more necessary in hockey. No stickers on helmets and no bike helmets are allowed. It is recommended that you purchase a helmet which is CSA and CAHA approved. It should be made of hard plastic with a thick sponge layer and it should provide ear protection. **If your child has long hair/bangs, please ensure that it is pulled back out of their eyes and off their face**
b) Skates – Fit is a number one priority. A boot fits if the child can sit in a chair, bend forward at the knee and there is one pencil width of space at the back of the boot. A used pair of skates is still usable if there is not crease on the inside of the boot. Creases on the outside are okay. When buying manufactured skate you should be aware that:
1. The quality of these skates is very inconsistent. Check them over carefully before you buy.
2. Because the blades are riveted on the boot as apposed to screw on, they cannot be moved. Check to ensure that the blades are mounted on straight.
3. Make sure the boot has not bubbled or wrinkled out. Also check the lining. The soles should not be warped or uneven.
8) Coaches: Parents, family or friends not skating must not interfere with coaches and skaters during lesson times. Please respect that our coaches need to give their attention to skaters. Questions for coaches can be forwarded to swiftcurrentskateclub@gmail.com or contacting the coaches directly.
Please do not sit in the player’s box.
